People love cute animals, especially small ones. The internet is awash with cute videos of cats and dogs however, other animals don’t usually seem to get the same amount of attention. However, photographer Johan Siggeson, who strolled down Horsey Beach in Norfolk, managed to capture one of the most photogenic baby seals we’ve ever seen. The seal sat back and looked very relaxed for his photoshoot, waving at the camera and looking into the sunlight.
Johan detailed his experience on the Norfolk beach saying “It was an amazing experience to spend time with these seals. We had some horrible weather the first days with rain, hail, and wind”.
A little wave – It is not unusual to see seals sunbathing on the beaches of East England. However, this seal seems to have something special to offer and the photographer captured it perfectly.
The seal featured is a ‘common seal’ also known as a ‘harbor seal’. Pups can weigh up to 16 kg and are able to swim within hours of their birth.
The global population of harbor seals is around 350,000 to 500,000. However, some subspecies in certain habitats around the world are threatened.
Horsey Beach is a wild, unspoilt beach on the East coast of England. It has one of the largest sand dune systems on the east coast. During the winter months, it’s the perfect place to go and see baby seals.
